I’ve read  this article posted at KBS World headlined ‘Japan Provides Patrol Ships to the Philippines against China’ it’s posted on this url http://world.kbs.co.kr/english/news/news_In_detail.htm?No=89090, it says that a paper named ‘Nihon Keizai Shimbun’ in Japan has reported that Japan decided to provide the Philippines with patrol ships to obviously help the Philippines patrol her territory against against China….. [you can continue reading the article at the link provided]

I actually have this mixed reaction after reading the article, I don’t know if I’ll feel happy because finally one neighbor has blatantly showed it’s support to the Philippines as it’s obviously can’t provide all these ships for herself, I won’t use any analogy on this one because it’s like thumping my heart with a shoe full of cleats, or would I feel poignant or rather sad, … OK, fine, I’ll drop the word – self-pity, as it’s not quiet an appropriate word to employ given the magnitude of this geo-political issue that’s involve in here.

I only have few cases in point;
Number 1: They say it’s not culturally apt to refuse someone offering a help, given the reality that Phils. is into right now, the best option is to take it .. and then what? I’d say can we just forget about other nasty political things and think of who is flying beneath our wings right now? You can agree or disagree, this is a free country.

Number 2. I think it’s not the right time to entertain thoughts about us being ‘kawawa’, fact is, we’ve been so ever since a lot of our politicians learned to think only of themselves and not the so-called ‘kapakanan ng bayan’.

Number 3. Ang Pilipinas kung sa beauty pageant pa may special award na – Miss Congeniality. As to how many countries would agree? I guess we’ve been amiable enough to have them on our side, however big the missiles would be that’ll come splashing the ‘karburo’ shoal I hope not anytime soon.

If this row got resolved ‘hindi sa pakanan o sa pakaliwa pero sa kanto dadami na naman ang mga intsik’, hehehe if you’re adept with Filipino everydayness then you might have encountered this running joke in few of your drinking sessions at the ‘kanto’, we just had our share of this joke at our dinner table too – kaya naman sila yumayaman magaling sa business strategy, lol.

OK, call this a little voice of one of the many Pinoys who follows this territorial dispute at Scarborough. In my opinion, China is no dummy not to know that Scarborough isn’t theirs, they’ve been known throughout human history of their brilliance in anyway, anywhere you look at it, this territory does not belong to China, no records whatsoever written in any scroll or banana-leaf for that matter that this territory belongs to them.

The question now is and actually it’s been answered as clear as the waters of ‘Karburo’ – why the hell China is claiming this, even mistakenly took claim of the Philippines? This would be a bonus question with a pre-written answer.

A lot already has been said about the imminent war that might get underway, one false move on each parties might escalate to a full-blown war – Jesuschrist, di pa ako nakapagpatayo ng bahay, gyera na, wag naman … but for heaven’s sake, whoever permitted the ‘Balikatan’ to be held in the areas around West Philippine Sea – that person for sure got an AK from Uncle Sam, whom have an all-the-time interest in us, but seriously and politically, that aggravated the situation – both China and America knows we can only settle this ‘sa maboteng usapan’ as we can’t bring this to ‘tingga-an’ – we have more Avon ladies here than armies in tattered boots, siguro pag laban ng pagandahan pwede pa.

There’s actually no point comparing our armed forces with China – maybe we can gain back our self-assurance if we do this with those nations that are less fortunate than us, in that way, we can realize how privileged we are compared to them – but with China, we can only whine with stuff that are ‘Made in China’, lol.

But I’m guessing, yes, just guessing – China won’t attack, in this space and time where you can win battle with pen and paper and with so much barking dogs around, I think this is where the Philippines will settle – how I hate it when we often seek refuge to diplomacy. Gaaahhh, bakit may submarine kaba? ‘Meron, yellow nga lang at parating lumulutang, ewwwww’ – but if China will strike, true colors of nations around the world will appear – ‘naitaga na to sa bato’ US would always be Philippines’ ally – sino pa kaya? Ah, siguro ang nasyon ng Santo Papa.
